HICKS ON STICKS PREQUEL 1 OF 4
a film by Soren Johnstone produced by Mike Babiarz In the early 90s, Ian Comishin started PM Skateboards in the interior of British Columbia. He wanted to share his passion for skateboarding with kids who grew up in small towns like himself. He wanted to expose the small-town kids to something they weren’t usually exposed to – something they would normally have to travel to the city to see. A travelling skateboard/ music show. The Hicks on Sticks Tour was born. Ian put together his team of four skaters and two bands. They set out building the ramps that they would tow around Western Canada. At the last minute the tour’s financing fell through, but they weren’t ready to let that stop them . The show would go on. This is part 1 of 4 introductory videos to the feature film Hicks On Sticks due out later this year. It’s a road trip film dating back to 1999 about chasing your dreams, skateboarding, music and brotherhood.
